Performance

Among the German departments in Taiwan, the German Department at Tamkang University (TKU) is one of the earliest established. With a history spanning over fifty years, the department has built a strong reputation and its professors have made significant contributions to the fields of language teaching, German literature, and cultural studies. 

The research interests of the full-time faculty members currently encompass a wide range of topics, including German as a Foreign Language, modern German Literature, German Linguistics, Fiction and Society, Cognitive Linguistics, Translation Studies, as well as 18th and 20th-century modern literature and media studies.
